In a slight mystery, the swiss chard that I whimsically planted in a small pot between two chile plants is growing by exuberant leaps, while the plants that have lots of room to spread out in the earth are peaked and piny. Is there anything better for the homecook than to walk into the kitchen bearing the fruits (and leaves) of things she's planted with her own hands?Sunday, June 27, 2010

In a slight mystery, the swiss chard that I whimsically planted in a small pot between two chile plants is growing by exuberant leaps, while the plants that have lots of room to spread out in the earth are peaked and piny. Is there anything better for the homecook than to walk into the kitchen bearing the fruits (and leaves) of things she's planted with her own hands?
